GUIDELINES and REGULATIONS
Participation :
·
Participation in the AITMO 2013 Indonesia is by
invitation
·
Any invited city or country of maximum of 6
members:
o
A team leader
o
A deputy leader
o
And 4 students
·
Interested city or country must submit their Application Form
via e-mail (aitmo_indonesia@yahoo.com)
or through Fax (+6251 863 0026) on
or before 30 September 2013.
·
The
organizing Commite will send the acceptance notice of your team before 15 October 2013
·
After confirmation, a detailed application form
must be submitted to the organizers on or before 30 October 2013.
Official Dates :
·
The official period of the AITMO 2013 begins on 27 Desember 2013 and ends on 29
Desember 2013
·
Participing Teams should arrive to the contest
venue on 26 Desember 2013.
Accomodation :
·
The organizers of AITMO 2011 will provide free
hotel accommodation incluiding meals and tour transportation during the
duration of the contest schedule.
·
Participant
who arrive at the contest venue earlier than or wish to stay after the
official schedule are responsible for their own expenses and accommodation.
Contest
Guidelines
1.
The AITMO 2013 will be conducted in two parts:
a.
Individual competition
b.
Team competition
2.
The team competition will be further categorized
into :
a.
Written competition
b.
Puzzle competition
3.
Each participating city must contribute 2 sets
of proposed problems each.
a.
Five (5) problems for the individual competition
b.
Five (5) problems for the team competition
c.
All problems must be provided with solutions and
answer keys in english. The problems with their solutions and answer keys
should be emailed to aitmo_indonesia@yahoo.com
by 15 October 2013
d.
The problems must be for the junior High School
Level
4.
The jury commite will consist of renowned
international mathematicians.
a.
The jury committee will evaluate, discuss,
select and prepare the problems for the contest.
b.
The jury committee will assess and evaluate the
AITMO 2013
5.
Contestant are ALLOWED to bring the following
into the contest hall;
a.
Stationery : Pens, pencils, erasers.
b.
Drawing instrument : Rulers, Protracktors, set
squares, Compasses, Dividers etc.
6.
Contestant are NOT ALLOWED to bring the
following into the contest hall
Computers, Laptops, Calculators, Books, Notes, Papers, Cell/mobile phone
etc.
7.
Medals and Tropies
a.
The winner will be awarded
i. Tropies
ii. Gold,
Silver and bronze medals
iii. Merit
Awards
iv. Certificate
of participation
b.
Individuals prizes
Participant will be awarded medals based on their performance in the
individual contest
c.
Group prizes
The scores of the top three members of each team in the individual
competition will be summed up to identify the winners in the group prizes. If the
scores of two or more teams are the same. The winner will be based on the group
whose member got the highest score in the individual competition.
d.
Team prize
The
top three teams will be awarded the first, second and third prize trophies. In
case of a tie, the team which has solved and answered the difficult question/s
correctly shall awarded the thropy

ASIA INTER-CITIES TEENAGER'S MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD
I.
Background
In 2003, some experts in mathematics education, among them are from
China, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, gathered to lauch an
international mathematics contest to provide opportunities for teenagers
(Junior High School students) in Asia to develop their competence in
mathematics and to promote friendship among future mathematicians in Asian
region. AITMO was firstly held in August
2003 at West Lake Hotel, Fuzhou, in China.
This contest was planned to be held in turns in different countries
biennially.
In 2005, AITMO was conducted in
the Philippines. In the year 2007, it
was administered in Hong Kong. In 2009,
it was held in the Philippines; combined with the EMIC, it was named
PEMIC. In 2011, AITMO was held in Nepal.
